April 15, 2026 for international applicants from outside the EU and EEA.

June 15, 2026 for applicants with a German degree as well as applicants from the EU and EEA.

• A tabular curriculum vitae (CV) in German or English
• Proof of sufficient English language proficiency [PDF]
• If applicable: proof of sufficient German language proficiency [PDF]
• A letter of motivation (up to 300 words) in German or English explaining which specific skills and interests qualify you for the degree programme.

Please make sure that the scanned documents are correctly formatted and available in an appropriate resolution. The file names should also be self-explanatory.

Please note that the entire application process is conducted online. No original documents are required for the application process, only scanned copies.

ONLY for foreign nationals or stateless applicants who

• are not treated as equivalent to German nationals under legal regulations
• are not nationals of another member state of the European Union (EU) or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA; Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway).
• did not obtain their bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree at a German university or at a university in another EU or EEA member state.

All international applicants must take an aptitude test. This test covers a broad range of topics from computer science. After the application period ends, you will receive an email with a personal link to the aptitude test together with the corresponding access data. The test takes about 60 minutes and must be completed within the specified time frame. The test result is part of the selection procedure.

If you are shortlisted for the programme, we will also invite you to a personal selection interview, which will be conducted by video conference.

• are German nationals
• or are foreign nationals or stateless applicants who are treated as equivalent to German nationals under legal regulations
• or are nationals of another member state of the European Union (EU) or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA; Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway)
• or obtained a bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree at a German university or at a university in another EU or EEA member state.
